Here are some new portraits shot for
a lovely hyper color
magazine we all love.
Hiroshi Sueyoshi is
a master potter, blending the proud traditions of Seagrove, North Carolina and Japan.
I can't thank him enough for allowing me to shoot tintypes.
I shot digital too,but the tins have the vibe I was looking for. Lets hope they get used.
You you wet plate fans
they are Whole plate,
shot on the old 8x10

here is Ellie and Brendan, the day after their wedding. I can't stop staring at this one; all sense of time is lost. Ellie has a blog that describes her wedding journey
If in the planning stage of a wedding here is how to do it with style.
Pardon the jumbled arrangement, blogs print upside down
as you might know.

In honor of Fredrick Archer,World Wet Plate Day came and went on Saturday May
To make this day of interest here in the port city, Print maker Shannon Rayle Bourne, Tintypest/photographer Chris Morgan and Yours truly opened up my studio for an open house.
We didn't really advertise, just pretty much word of mouth
and the turnout rocked -maybe 200 folks!
A good time followed and I was able to shot this image of Joe from The Travelers as my contribution to the book that will follow.
The image of the reader was one from the show.
And bare with me as I learn how this blog thing works...
Things come in up side down ;the photos at the top are from show before the crowd arrived and drank all the wine and bought all the art or some of the art.
See my work at and Chris at
Hopefully Shannon will have a site soon.
over and out.
